Doug Hartzheim and John Gilner, founders of Inland Concrete Products, are pleased to announce that they have expanded and updated their line of rebar chairs and other plastic accessories to provide state-of-the-art high-strength, high-performance products designed to meet the demanding environment created by reinforcing steel used in concrete construction. The leading line of plastic rebar support products includes several patents on its unique designs.
The product line includes High Chairs, On-Grade Square Chairs, and Tilt Chairs, as well as concrete accessories for all jobs, large and small. Inland Concrete Products continues its legacy of innovation more than a quarter-century after developing the industry’s original plastic on-grade chair. The High Chairs are suitable for thick slabs, double rebar mats, and heavy loads. The cover height ranges from three inches to fourteen inches and is featured in bridge decks, parking structures, foundations, and (with a sand plate) on-grade applications.

A spokesperson for the company explained to an interviewer recently, “Our On-Grade Square Chairs range in cover height from 1.5 inches to 6.25 inches. They are strong, stable, and easy to tie to rebar, as well as light and easy to carry. Our Tilt Chairs are designed for tilt-up buildings, precast, or anywhere architectural footprint is needed. The height is available from 3/4″ to 6″. They provide an architectural footprint that is lightweight and easy to use.
“You can depend on our products,” he continued. “By definition, to be dependable means to be trustworthy and reliable. You can count on us at ICP. We boast the largest inventory of dobies in the country, ready to ship when your order is placed. If you have ever been told you have to wait for dobies, the word “wait” is not in our vocabulary. We test our mix designs daily to ensure that your orders meet the criteria you expect. Our plastic parts are free of flash and produced from injection molds with the latest technology. Our regular strength dobies will average a compressive strength between 4,000 and 5,000 psi. We regularly stock higher strength dobies for DOT work in many sizes.”
