During years of continuous exploration and progress in the field of antibody discovery and engineering, Creative Biolabs keeps the faith that young talents with ambition are the main driving force of scientific progress. Since 2016, offering financial aid to support those outstanding students has become an annual tradition, which used to call for the applicants to submit essays on certain topics for assessment. This year, there are some updates in the submission and materials that further standardize the application procedures.
“This year we add reference letter to the list,” said the head of Creative Biolabs, a professor specialized in biotechnology, “since we want to know the evaluation from lecturers, paper advisors or community activity leaders about the candidate, to carry out an overall assessment.”
As always, the 2020 Creative Biolabs Scholarship Program mainly targets undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. students whose majors are science or medical-related, such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, with a cumulative average grade of a B (3.0 GPA) requested. Qualified applicants are required to submit a completed application form, latest transcript (official or unofficial), a fixed format reference letter, a written essay of 800-1,000 words or a PowerPoint of 10-12 pages that is original and in correct grammar, about one of the following four topics.
• Overview on Clinical Applications of Oncolytic Viruses
• Novel Gene Delivery Systems for Gene Therapy
• Applications of Protac Technology in Disease Treatment
• Overview on Clinical Applications of Stem Cell Therapy
“As most of the universities are conducting distance teaching due to the influence of COVID-19, we extend the application deadline to September 15, 2020, so that the students have enough time to prepare for their essays and reference letters.” It’s important to note that all of the applications must be submitted through email with designated subject “2020 Creative Biolabs Scholarship Application-Full Name” before the deadline, which will be assessed by Creative Biolabs Selection Committee according to the following criteria, and the winner will be announced on September 30, 2020.
• Academic ability: GPA and detailed learning plan of students
• Leadership ability
• Participation in volunteer, community service or other public service activities.
In an effort to further support the research and higher education of the students in the medical and science-related field, Creative Biolabs is proud to announce its 2020 scholarship program, hoping that more and more talents can have the chance to step further into the subjects accordingly, making achievements in scientific research, and eventually improving the precision medicine, as what Creative Biolabs is always committed to.
