Distance Teaching and Mobile Learning was founded in 2016 with their major goal to introduce English and digital literacy in the developing countries. While working towards their mission, they realized that they can further expand their program and reach other countries and grow their learning community. Distance Teaching and Mobile Learning (dtml.org) programs will now be run by JAAS Foundation and additionally, will focus to provide learning opportunities to kids. This will help build a foundation for kids’ future by engaging in free educational activities powered by state-of-the-art e-Learning-technologies. This aims to help kids, not only in the US but globally as well and is also reflected in their mission statement. This shift over name will not affect any existing Distance Teaching and Mobile Learning programs and volunteering opportunities and they will continue to run as is.
Aleksey Sinyagin, founder of JAAS Foundation believes in equitable learning opportunities and realises the importance of technology in today’s world as he mentions, “Distance Teaching and Mobile Learning will continue to tackle the tech challenges of developing nations under the new name of JAAS Foundation.” Keeping their vision intact, the JAAS Foundation is furthering their mission to develop free advanced educational technologies to benefit students around the world.
JAAS Foundation reaches out to schools and educational institutions in struggling communities to offer them digital literacy training, under the name of ‘Digital Literacy Community Outreach’ program. They also provide grants, which aim to enhance the capacity of grantees to engage in online education activities and to create pathways out of poverty by closing the digital divide.
JAAS Foundation ensures that all the children around the world have the same opportunity of learning and therefore, has constructed an online portal that provides free e-Learning materials for ESL students in the US and around the world. They enhance school activities with powerful e-Learning technologies and strive to provide free educational support to every child. They strongly believe that education is the basic right of all children and that it connects to economic opportunity in the future.
They have amazing board of directors and attract passionate and carrying volunteers. The organization supports schools in Ethiopia, Uganda, Venezuela, Colombia and other countries and have helped more than 50,000 students. Currently, they run 50,000 plus monthly educational sessions in over 200 countries. They believe in working together and value open partnership, ranging from schools, organizations, and social service entities to municipalities and the local business community. These partnerships strengthen them to eradicate poverty and provide learning and economic avenues to all. By working together towards their vision, this world can achieve a globally advanced, united and competitive future.
