Annette My Ronne, is making her writing debut with her upcoming book “Paris Lesson Learned” inspired by her bitter-sweet experiences, while teaching English in Paris from 2008-2009. The idea for this book was born in her mind about six years ago. She had a mixed experience teaching English in different schools in Paris. While some were fairly accepting of the English language training while others were not so much.
After leaving Paris, Annette decided to write a story about her experiences and life as an English school teacher in Paris. The idea was to show the conditions of the schools and how the French perceived this new labor market group, at times, in a snobbish way. On the bright side, her job was mainly fun and easy, plus they got to explore the beauty and sceneries of Paris like never before.
Fast forward to the present, Annette is ready with a full-fledged draft of her story which is now more of a ‘fiction’ with slight inspirations from her personal story. She has added a fair amount of humor and romance in the novel to make it engaging, and with a gripping storyline. Now she needs to hire a professional editor to get the final, printable version ready, but she is falling short of budget.
Annette has turned to the masses seeking $7,558 through a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, for covering the costs of editing, publishing, website designing and marketing the book worldwide. She is also rewarding the backers through perks like a signed copy of the book, a digital copy of the book, etc.
The success of the campaign will ensure Annette is able to bring her character “Erika” to life and present an entertaining story that centers around how one can rebuild one’s life, differentiate between real and illusioned love, and find happiness in this world, all embedded in the backdrop of picturesque Paris.
