Banker turned author Bhanu Srivastav is only 28 years old and is already considered one of the best-selling authors in the country. He had had a love of writing since childhood. However, Bhanu doesn’t stop at just writing books. He has also written articles and editorials in various Technology News Blog. Bhanu, who was in Mumbai to promote his debut novel, Hacker 404 Happiness not found, spoke to us on his new book, his style of writing and more.
This is your debut novel. Why did you choose this title?
(Laughs). The story was about a guy who was successful but not happy. The ups and downs due to this situation created chaos in his life. Title “Hacker” was chosen by me and subtitle “404 Happiness not found was suggested by my friend & guide – Bindu Mallikarjuna.
Becoming a writer was your childhood dream?
I never wanted to become a writer. Some time ago I was going through bad days and several mental complications, to deviate my mind I started writing my pain after I was done with all the crying, I thought, ‘Why not let it out in the form of writing?’ It has helped me share my grief with so many others,” Bhanu said.
How do you feel today?
Today, I feel like an inspiration to several people. At least 300 colleagues have come up to me and asked me for advice on writing their own books.
What are your future plans?
Well, I don’t plan for the future, I am working on my next book – Convolution The life’s Paradox. It’s science fiction.
