Lin Wenliang, a first-class calligrapher, a senior calligrapher and painter, is the signing artist of Xizhi Painting and Calligraphy Newspaper. He is currently the vice chairman of the Artists Committee of China Poetry and Calligraphy Network. He is now a member of China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, a member of Calligraphy Art Research Association of China Couplets Association, a member of Guangzhou Calligraphy Association, and a calligraphy consultant of Guangdong Radio and Television Station “Good Boys in South Guangdong”.

Lin Wenliang, born in 1951, Han nationality, originally from Shunde, Guangdong Province, lived in Guangzhou. Influenced by my father since childhood (his father, Lam Ang Hang, was a famous calligrapher in Guangzhou in 1950s and 1960s, and many signboards in halls and shops were written by him), he loved calligraphy, studied Yan style and Liu style, and formed his own style with his father’s style of calligraphy, including seal script, official script, regular script, running script and cursive script, especially running script, which can seal cutting and seal printing.

His calligraphy works have been collected by Zimbabwe’s President, Vice President, Ambassador, Polish Consul, Sri Lankan Consul, the United States, Britain, France, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and other countries as well as institutions and individuals in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. He has won the gold medal of the 5th Yanhuang Cup International Poetry, Painting and Printing Art Competition, the gold medal of famous Chinese contemporary literary and art works, the special prize of Masterpieces of Chinese Contemporary Literature and Art Works, the first prize of the 2017 National Annual Meeting of Poets and Painters’ Creation, and the second prize of the 6th National Xizhi Cup Poets and Painters Invitational Tournament. The awarding ceremony of the above activities was held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Great Hall Hotel and National Convention Center. And won the second prize of the first National People’s Artists Network Selection, the first National Calligraphy Art Network Competition Excellence Award, the third prize of “Bo Rui Cup” Guangzhou 13th Mass Calligraphy Competition, and the first Mass Calligraphy Competition Excellence Award of Guangzhou Daily Guangdong Media Art Enterprise Alliance. His works were selected in “Famous Books of Famous Literary Artists in the 66 th Anniversary of New China”, “Golden List of Famous Chinese Contemporary Literary Artists” (Volume 2016), “Classic Works of Famous Literary Artists in the Chinese Era” (Volume 2017), “National Poetry and Painters Boutique Collection”, “Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up-Large-scale Literature Collection Post Book of Leading Chinese Contemporary Painting and Calligraphy Art”, “The belt and road initiative” First China-Europe Art Stamp Book He wrote inscriptions for the 2018 China Stamp Tax Album “Red Tax Memory”, stamp collection commemorative album “Lingnan Memory”, and wrote inscriptions for each chapter of the book “Hundred Business Cards of Lingnan Culture” and created 35 seals. He was interviewed and reported by CCTV, and was invited to participate in the column “Love Full Sunset” produced by Guangzhou Municipal Committee on Aging and Guangzhou TV Station to introduce his calligraphy life and talk about the topic of “signature calligraphy and urban culture” live on Guangdong Radio. He was rated as a national advanced worker in literature and art in 2016, a national pioneer in culture in the new period in 2017, and an advanced figure in poetry, painting and calligraphy in 2017. He was awarded the title of “Messenger of Cultural Ingenuity and Public Welfare” by the World Federation of Folk Culture Exchanges. His works were received by the Guangdong Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, and were auctioned for charity in various activities such as “Dedication of Love and Art for the Disabled” in the 8th Guangdong Disabled Games. He has participated in many national, provincial and municipal painting and calligraphy exhibitions and various pen meetings and calligraphy exchange activities. Invited by the Central Radio and Television General Station, he wrote the plaque “Flower Blossoming in Bay Area” and the long couplet for GBA Headquarters in Lizhiwan Scenic Spot, Guangzhou, and broadcast it on cctv-4 and news channels.

Lin Wenliang is both civil and military. In 1959, he won the second place in the children’s group in Guangzhou Wushu Competition, and in 1963, he won the first place in the all-around total score of knife, gun, sword, stick and fist in Guangzhou Wushu Competition.
