In volume 2, the cloud Blinky, the alien Alienne and Whizzy continue their dangerous journey to the sun. In their ultrasonic hyper fast propulsion spaceship, they fly past the Moon, Venus and Mercury at almost 3,000 kilometres per second. They come close to the Sun which is a rather hot place as most people know. Ghost particles whizz past them and penetrate their bodies. Even though Whizzy is extremely excited about this wild trip, he misses his friends Molly, Nibbly and Buzzy back down on Earth. He knows, of course, that there is hardly anything more important for children than having real friends you can rely on.
The colourful children’s book “Heading for the Sun” by Barbara Stein is volume 2 in the author’s exciting series about the world and the universe. There are six volumes in total, each of them about a fascinating topic children usually have a lot of questions about once they discover it. The characters in the various volumes are always the same, so readers will become familiar with them – and it is highly recommended to read the books in the correct order as some topics will be harder to understand without knowledge about topics that have been talked about in previous volumes.
