Toronto – Toronto-area Theatre enthusiasts have demanded Delcita Coldwater and beginning October 11 to 14, 2013, their demands will be fulfilled, when Jamaica’s longest running play will open in Toronto, Scarborough and Brampton.

In fact, Andrea ‘Delcita’ Wright will lead a talented cast that includes Patrick Smith, Donald Thompson, Margaret Wilson, Sherene Davis and Ackeem Poyser in Paul O. Beale’s, “Court House Drama”.

Presented by Fam Records Inc. in association with Big Stage Entertainment Ltd,  “The play skilfully executes content, context and continuity. It’s not bawdy or over the top”, says Andrea Wright, Lead Actress & Director.

Wright adds, “The first objective of the play is to entertain; however, there is a more powerful theme of female empowerment as well as conquering learning disabilities being told”.

The major goal of Court House Drama is to resolve issues that affect most women in Jamaica. It demonstrates how learning disabilities affect children at home as well as in school.

Case in point: Delcita is dyslexic and the oldest child in school. Her learning disability as well as government policy has resulted in her being held back. These facts have contributed to Delcita advising her teacher on relationships, the results of which, land them both in court.

Not surprisingly, the audience has responded extremely well to Court House Drama.

“Many fans, once seated, express refusal to get up “because they don’t want to miss any part of the play”.

“On a typical show night patrons can be seen splitting, jumping, waving and punching the air as Delcita delivers her witty lines”.

The play opens October 11, 2013. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased @TicketGateway.com and at major ticketing outlets. Additional information is available online at www.delcitacoldwater.com or by calling 289-939-PLAY (7529) or (416) 567-8173.
