The Harman company came to Las Vegas for the International CES showing with a specific car-audio package that was set to make waves for audio capabilities in particular vehicle lines.
Harman Vehicle Specific Audio Upgrades will feature components designed to fit within the original factory location and will plug directly into the existing harness without splicing required. The package will include new speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers that are time-aligned and equalized to fit in each vehicle. All of which means that the systems will provide a higher quality than ever before.
The system was presented outside the United States initially, and a US system intended for Wranglers is now on the horizon.
Harman also announced a new Vehicle infotainment upgrade package, which was said to provide upgrades to the Semi-OEM infotainment systems already in circulation.
A small snap-in box that is connected to the pre wired cradle and is installed by the automaker, dealer, and consumer is included. After the device is installed, the device connects to the infrastructure, and the buttons work with the OEM touch screen.
Along with the new Specific Infotainment Upgrade packages, automakers can extend the general shelf life of the in-car system for eight to 10 years of car use, according to Harman.
The exhibition was held at the Hard Rock hotel and Casino and also housed the launching of the Infinity marine speakers, along with the mid-priced JBL GX car speakers, and the JBL marine speakers.
