Creators of FireJumpers Announce Plans to Develop New Wildfire Game

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada – March 18th, 2015 – The team of developers that brought the challenge and excitement of wildfire fighting to mobile gaming with “FireJumpers Wildfire RTS” has announced plans to create a new multi-player game with even more advanced features. They have turned to the crowdfunding community to get funding to produce the new game, “FireJumpers Inferno.” The IndieGoGo campaign goal is to raise $60,000 CAD by April 9th, 2015.

Jason Thomas, the lead developer, has dedicated himself to the FireJumpers project for the past three years, during which the team has created two games and a professional training simulator, all focused on simulating the epic battles fought between wildland firefighters and raging wildfires around the world. The results have been very well-received, with the first simulator, “FireJumpers Wildfire RTS,” earning success on the Android and iOS platforms with a rating of 4.5 out of 5.

In fact, the game depicts wildfire fighting so well that a Canadian firefighting agency even contacted Jason’s team to develop an aerial training simulator for them. That multi-player simulation proved to be so much fun that it inspired Jason to create “FireJumpers Sandbox” to bring the multi-player experience to the rest of the world. The sandbox version, as its name implies, lets users set their own fire scenarios and invite other players to join them in fighting the wildfires with whatever units they like.

“This game is an amazing concept and I love seeing it evolve. It’s nice to be able to talk to the developers, while you play the game. Great teamwork guys!” – Jesse, a passionate player of “FireJumpers Sandbox.”

Now the team wants to develop an even better game, “FireJumpers Inferno”. This will have , the features of the sandbox version, such as maps from around the world, a sophisticated real-time fire simulation, and a walkie-talkie button to communicate with other players. But FireJumpers Inferno will also include many enhancements, including more air and ground units, game scenarios, the ability to customize teams and track their progress, and social features to help players meet their friends online, including for tournaments against other player groups. There will also be improved sound and music effects.

FireJumpers Inferno will also include special features for its many players who are also professional wildland firefighters, such as more realistic fire and terrain models, training room options, and support for importing maps from GIS systems.

Those who wish to make a contribution to developing this ground-breaking game, please visit the IndieGoGo campaign or click here. Backers can choose from many exclusive rewards as a “thank you” for their support.

This is an “all-or-nothing” deal. If the team doesn’t reach its goal, then it may be years before they can move forward with development. So a donation of any amount counts! For those who cannot give, please share this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks! Let the word out that the FireJumpers team is ready to launch a new epic game for everyone to enjoy!
