Crowd Funding Campaign Aims to Fund Self-Empowerment Book that Teaches People How to Release Their Own Muscle Tension and Soreness

Funds raised will allow for the first print run of the book Return to Ease, Gently Reconnect with Your Body’s Natural Mobility and Joy, a book about simple ways to return to your natural mobility.

Columbus, OH – May 18, 2015 – A Dublin, Ohio resident has taken to crowd funding to help raise a portion of the necessary funds to publish her book.

Carolyn Barnes, LMT, wrote the book, Return to Ease, Gently Reconnect with Your Body’s Natural Mobility and Joy, after years of prodding from her massage clients who have experienced profound positive changes in their bodies. As a licensed massage therapist, Barnes dealt with pain in her own body due to the physical strain of her daily work.  She then started using simple self-care techniques and when she experienced a profound release of discomfort in her body, she shared these self-care practices with her massage clients, who also experienced results.

“People are pleasantly surprised that they could do something themselves for only five minutes a day to achieve noticeable increase of ease and comfortableness in their bodies, and that these techniques are actually easy and pleasant to do,” said Barnes. “I picked the techniques my clients always come back to because they’re easy and fun.”

The book deals with creating more ease in your body through body-mind-spirit self-care practices that anyone can do at home or even at the office. The first half of the book guides the reader through establishing a gratitude practice, proper breathing techniques and other simple practices. The second half of the book features specific ways to gently and comfortably release muscular and fascial restrictions in your body using a foam roller, a small therapeutic ball and gentle movements.  It is a full-color book with images that showcase detailed instruction of the various active techniques as well as inspirational quotes matched with stunning full page nature photographs.

The goals of the crowd funding campaign are to allow people to purchase the book, add a special “perk” to their book purchase from items that have been donated from other businesses and to raise awareness about the project.  Nurture Yoga in Dublin, Ohio has donated 100 yoga classes, Heather Doyle Fraser has donated life coaching sessions, Dr. Brian Briggs of CompleteChiropractic in Dublin, Ohio has donated speaking and chiropractic services, and noted celebrity in the astrology world, Laura Walker, has donated astrology readings.

Barnes is holding free events in Columbus, Ohio through June 19. Events that are open to the public and can be found on her web site at Private lunch-and-learn type events are privately held at local businesses.
