Lancaster, PA – On May 5 2015, Joey Sorrentino launched a Kickstarter campaign for HOPPERS, a sci-fi thriller about a series of murders by a killer who can’t possibly exist and has a detective doubting his sanity.
“It’s a hobby and a passion of mine,” Sorrentino says. “I get an idea and I can’t stop writing until it’s complete. I do it for myself and my love of writing. With HOPPERS I decided to start my own company which we named after our Chihuahua, My Little Rascal Production Company, LLC and go the crowdfunding route to try and make this dream a reality.”
The team behind My Little Rascal Production Company has turned to Kickstarter to help raise the funds they need to make the best film trailer that they possibly can for HOPPERS. Joey Sorrentino already has Big Dog Productions ready to film, Chaos Theory Creations, LLC lined up for special effects and a great cast that is very excited to be a part of this project.
“I love the balance of the story. It’s the perfect combination of hard boiled police procedural with the awe inspiring paranormal head trip!” describes Danny Plaza, who will play Detective Ed Mullins, “It’s ordinary people with all their faults, in extraordinary circumstances! I am very lucky to be a part of this history making film!”
In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can gain access to a variety of rewards including 25 pages of the original script signed by Joey for $25, a HOPPERS or My Little Rascal t-shirt for $30, a chance to be one of the first to get a sneak peek of the trailer for $100, and more. Backers can also pledge to receive the opportunity to visit the set and have lunch with the cast or even name a character!
“WHEN IMPOSSIBLE BECOMES THE NORM. WHEN BIZARRE IS REALITY. WHEN EVERY FIBER IN YOUR BEING SCREAMS OUT NO THIS CAN’T BE TRUE. THEN MAYBE YOU WILL BELIEVE IN HOPPERS.”
