Vicksburg, MS – May 25, 2015 – Jeremy Cantrell wanted to preserve the memory of his beloved grandfather, Frank Cantrell, in the best way possible. However, Wikipedia does not allow just anyone to share a story. This is why Jeremy created StoryBrancher. It is an online encyclopedia where everyone can finally share stories about people, places, and things that are important to them. In order to make this available on mobile, the creator has launched a Kickstarter campaign on July 19th to complete development of the app. The goal is to raise $54,000 by July 16th, 2015.
After Jeremy’s grandfather passed away from lung cancer in 2004, he wanted to create a way to share and learn more about his “Papaw.” With StoryBrancher, not only can users post articles about their loved ones, they can share articles about themselves or anything that is important to them. It is the perfect place to write about everyday people, places, and things. Think of it as a personal Wikipedia that allows others to edit and add to each piece, while also offering branches to provide more personal and subjective posts. Finally, the barrier is broken and the limitations are lifted so that people do not have to be a celebrity, pop star, or dictator to have a story written about them.
However, in today’s world mobile is crucial to offer full usability for everyone to enjoy StoryBrancher. The Kickstarter campaign will finish development of the app on both iOS and Android devices. People can use this to spread the word about his or her business, job, or even Kickstarter campaign. The mobile version will allow the users to invite others to read, edit, and add to articles, add multimedia files directly from mobile devices, and share stories with a few simple clicks, swipes, and taps.
To help make this app possible, make a contribution by visiting the Kickstarter campaign or clicking here. Supporters can choose from many great rewards as a “thank you” for the donation.
Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal, which means if the campaign does not reach the fund goal then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given matters! Help StoryBrancher reach its goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this the more support the campaign will receive.
