Hawaii is more often thought of as a vacation spot than a serious talent pool for baseball, football and basketball athletes. The state’s significant isolation and the overlooked native athletic programs have stymied the collegiate and professional sports careers of the state’s many talented athletes. In an effort to raise the profile of many of the talented Hawaiian athletes, the multimedia company Blue Wing Ki’i plans on offering photography and videography services. Blue Wing Ki’i will soon be able to provide professional caliber media for scouts in the continental U.S. or other nations, thereby supporting the dreams of many deserving Hawaiian athletes.
Founded by University of Hawaii student Aaron Tui, Blue Wing Ki’i is a local startup that specializes in capturing the highflying accomplishments of the state’s most notable athletes in high school, college, semi-pro and professional organizations. Aaron is a true believer in the prospective achievements of these overlooked stars and has invested in making it possible to market them to a much wider audience of scouts and sports teams.
To help upgrade Blue Wing Ki’i’s multimedia services, Aaron Tui has sponsored a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise $20,000. These funds will be used to purchase a Nikon D4S Sport Camera, AF-S Nikkor 400mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Sport telephoto lens, Pro Memory Card and Pro Carbon Fiber Monopod. If the funding goal is not met, then raised funds will be applied to the purchase of a Nikon D750 and AF-S Nikkor 400mm f/2.8G ED VR telephoto lens.
In return for your generous support of this historic project, you can receive valuable perks like Hawaiian sunset photos, Hawaiian landscape photos, Hawaiian island prints, commercial use licenses of Hawaiian photos and video clips, or being listed as a prime sponsor on the Blue Wing Ki’i website.
