SafeStrobe – Making Life Safer for Wheelchair Users

An effective and easy to use, life-saving device for the motorized wheelchair community

Kennewick, WA – June 4, 2015 – Each year nearly 2,400 wheelchair users are killed or severely injured when they are struck by a motor vehicle. In nearly every incident, the driver of the vehicle claims that they simply didn’t see the person in the wheelchair. So, it is exciting to know that the solution has been found. Meet SafeStrobe! A remote controlled, telescopic, LED safety light for those in wheelchairs.

Traveling on city streets, intersections, and in parking lots is extremely dangerous for wheelchair users. There are over 20,000 incidents between cars and motorized wheelchairs each year, in the U.S. alone. However, SafeStrobe can change that. This safety light makes those in wheelchairs visible to the drivers of motor vehicles. It provides safety, security and confidence by providing a visibility presence.

SafeStrobe weighs less than 2 pounds, and stands at 72 inches when fully extended. The strobe head has 8 LEDs that produce 350-650 lumens of light. The strobe also senses ambient light and automatically adjusts the LED output to be brighter during the daytime and the appropriate amount of light during the evening. The best part is that it is all operated from a remote control and only needs charging every 28 days with normal use.

In order to bring this easy to use safety device to the world, and possibly save lives by preventing motor vehicle and wheelchair incidents,  SafeStrobe started a Kickstarter campaign. The funds raised would help put finish the finishing touches on this unique, life saving innovation. The goals of this project is to raise $80,000 by July 11, 2015.

To help launch SafeStrobe, please visit the Kickstarter campaign or click here. Perks will be delivered between Aug 2015 and Jan 2016.

Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal, which means if the campaign does not reach the fund goal then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given matters! Help SafeStrobe reach the goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this the more support the campaign will receive.
