“Sam and the Adventure” Campaign Receives Kickstarter Staff Pick Award

Incredible story answers the question everyone has been wanting to know – what is the story behind the mural?

Groningen, Netherlands – June 9, 2015 – Alison Day, creator and owner of Alison Day Designs, has announced she is finally going to reveal the story behind the mural she painted for her son, many years ago. Ms. Day has turned to the crowdfunding community to publish “Sam and the Adventure”, which is a children’s book telling a magical tale of a young boy named Sam and his quest to find an exciting adventure. She launched a Kickstarter campaign, which has received tremendous recognition as a Kickstarter Staff Pick. The goal is to raise €10,000 by June 26th, 2015.

Fans of Alison Day’s work are ready to embark on the incredible journey of young Sam, in a train on his epic adventure. Written, illustrated and designed by Alison, this 88-page storybook will engage readers and provide a great story for children of all ages around the world to enjoy. There will be 43 full colour illustrations, of which 33 are reproductions of her classic pâpiermaché–mosaic artworks.

However, the story goes beyond simply being an exciting children’s book. There is an underlying theme that is very close to Alison Day’s heart and it is a message the world needs to hear, which is to: recycle, reuse and reinvent. She hopes this will encourage more people to opt to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

Funds received from the campaign will cover expenses to make the book a reality and pay for shipping costs. “Sam and the Adventure” will be available on softcover, hardcover, and softcover deluxe. There will also be a colouring book that adults can use to bond with their kids and enhance a child’s creativity. Printing will be done by an online POD (Paid on Demand) service.
