“Progetto Gibson” — The project to create music with the historical piece of art — The “Gibson” Stradivari viola

Music is life to the soul of a music lover and if the music relates to a legendary instrument of great historical significance, played by someone whose fingers work like magic over the instrument, keeping the beauty and serenity of the music intact, this could be just the perfect food for the music appetite. Lech Antonio Uszynski, Violist, intends to bring this dream of a music lover into reality as he is going to record his new album “PROGETTO GIBSON”, in which he’ll be playing, keeping the “Gibson” viola as the protagonist.

Reportedly, the album will contain compositions by: Marcello (arr. G.A. Gibson), Brahms and Shostakovich, played by Lech Antonio Uszynski. What’s more to this album is that, Uszynski will be joined by the very talented and exceptional pianist Andriy Dragan (Winner of the Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes 2009) and the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert hall has been chosen as the venue for the recording session, which is planned to begin this August. This is one classical album production project and as stated, the production and distribution will be done under the Grammy Award 2012 winner label, CD Accord

The album is set for official release in Jan-Feb 2016.

It’s worth noting that the “Gibson” viola was made in 1734 by Antonio Stradivari, considered as the most significant and greatest violinmaker in history, and only 9 such violas are there worldwide, one of them has been auctioned this year at a starting price of $45 million as mentioned. Intrigued by the “Gibson” viola, Uszynski said “it’s like an extension to his soul and his inspiration.” Following his inspiration, he aims to continue this project in future in the form of further recordings.

To bring up such legendary compositions and present such classical album it will require a very high quality execution of the project for which they have started a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for arranging the very best conditions to produce an outstanding recording. Contributors can get huge awards.
