“”The biggest problem with Crowdfunding is finding the crowd. No matter how great the project is, without a crowd to support it, you will not get funded.” ~ Dr. Letitia Wright”
In less than 20 minutes from the small group of less than 50 people we raise $597 for that business. Why was it that easy? Because, it was the right place to do it for that project. Many people spend time talking those who don’t care or don’t need or don’t understand the Crowdfunding project. I want to share 5 places to go to find people who will give to your Crowdfunding project and be raving fans who tell others.

The biggest problem with Crowdfunding is finding the crowd. No matter how great the project is, without a crowd to support it, you will not get funded. I recently spoke at an event and decided to do a Crowdfunding demonstration. I picked someone from the crowd, told them about the young woman standing before them and what she did. Then I asked to talk about what she did.

She was able to stand tall and explain exactly what she did and why and who she helps with her business. She didn’t get bashful and put her head down and say she was not ready. She was completely ready to share what she did. She was clear. She was concise. She had not told me she needed money. And I didn’t do it because I thought she was broke. I did it to show the power of coming together for a cause. I told them we would raise $200 to give to her business so she could scholarship 2 of her clients for a month. This means that two of her clients could get a free month of coaching with her, because she charged $97 a month.

3 Places to Find Your Crowdfunding Givers:

1) Your networking groups. This assumes you are a regular participant who contributes to the group. If you just joined yesterday, they don’t know you and won’t care about what you are doing. If you have been there, if you have spent time making relationships, if you helped others, you will have good will towards yourself and your project.

2) Your close circle of social media connections. I am not talking about every connection on social media. I am talking about the people you actually have relationships with. People friend me all the time, people I have never had an interaction with before. Their first communication with me is to ask me to give to their campaign. I don’t know them and frankly don’t care about their campaign. But people I know and care about do have a chance. I want to know more about what they are doing.

3) Your hobby groups. These are the people you play sports with or any other fun this you do. It could be your book club or a cos-play group. These people know another side of you. If your Crowdfunding project is related to this fun “thing”, they will be willing to help you.

These are just a few places to find your crowd to help you reach your Crowdfunding goal.
