CHINA, Asia – July 14, 2015 – In many places where dog meat is consumed, the dog commonly endure a lifetime of abuse and often are slaughtered in a manner that is nightmarish and brutal. An average of 47 dogs are killed every minute for the global dog meat trade. Appalled by the brutal ways that are used in this meat trade, especially the Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China, a group of volunteers have decided to take end the trade all together. By raising more awareness, this group hopes to pressure the legislators to outlaw the trade itself.
However, before this awful, brutality can stop, these volunteers need help. That’s why they launched this campaign. The goal of this project is to raise a $1,000,000 by August 6, 2015. The funds raised will go towards publications, media exposure, financial assistance to relevant NGOs as well as financing campaigns, and on the ground personnel. This cause will put an end to the anguish the animals face.
