There are no such thing as an easy way out or an escape plan on facing challenges. It is either we face them and win or lose and stand up again. But most people don’t see it that way. Fear consumes them when they are put in a situation they do not like. Rather than having the guts to go out there and face their problems and fear, they prefer to remain in denial to protect themselves from the harsh realities of life.
They would often take the easy way out and drown themselves in alcohol or take drugs just to have a temporary reprieve from their worries. But alcohol and drugs are never a permanent solution to anything. They just make things worse and causes more problems in the future. Alcohol and drugs are like a blindfold, it prevents the person from seeing the real picture and keeps them in the dark.
If this is the case, why are so many people still preferring to take drugs knowing their effect?
Well society has a role in that. Rather than teaching our children the ways on how to handle problems. Society has taught us through various media like shows in television or various postings on the internet that problems are something that we shouldn’t be concerned with. Society has taught us that we should only live in the now and forget the future. We as a people have defined it wrong.
To truly overcome our problems and adversities one must first understand and admit that they have a problem. By doing so, we are opening ourselves to the prospect of triumphing from it.
After admitting to the problem one must then understand what has caused it? By keeping ourselves sober and thinking back on what has caused our problems can we think of a possible solution for it?
Think positive. Problems, adversities and challenges all have something in common, they are all considered negative emotions. We can’t overcome any of our woes unless we turn the tables and be positive about it. Positive emotions invites more solutions and negative emotions invites more problems.
Remember, we can only solve a problem if we are willing to face it. Hiding under our pain and sorrow and letting our self-drown will only invite more problems. But if we are willing to man up and accept the circumstance in why we have problems then we can overcome it and live a better and more fruitful life.
