Operation Get Out or OGO is an app that was conceived in a Marine Corps barracks with the hope of ending child sex trafficking. However, it quickly became apparent that the idea behind the app could be used for all types of daily situations for both children and adults to notify friends and family members of their whereabouts and to alert them if they were in danger. Now, OGO’s creators have launched an IndieGoGo project to raise funds to complete app development.
OGO want’s to bring security into every home in America. We know this can’t be done with a gadget, because gadgets cost too much. Instead we’re working to create an app that is detailed enough to actually provide the service, while simultaneously being priced so that everyone can afford it. That’s what OGO is.
By providing for our campaign you’re making sure no corners are being cut. You’re enabling us to create an app that will transform how we communicate.
Operation Get Out allows children and adults to quickly notify their list of friends and family of their location and condition. Using a simple code of green for safe, yellow for possible danger and red for danger, users can notify everyone on their list of their status instantly. Furthermore, the app allows for GPS tracking of the user’s device and push notifications to ensure that someone gets the message. OGO offers parents and children a way to communicate instantly when there is a problem and can help families stay safe without expensive gadgets. However, the creators must have funding in order to complete development and distribution of the app; therefore, they have launched an IndieGoGo campaign to raise this money.
Located at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/operation-get-out#/story, the IndieGoGo campaign offers pledge levels ranging from $1 to $7,000 and including perks from military dog tags, high-quality OGO backpacks and more.
For the specific prizes associated with each pledge level, visit the IndieGoGo page.
