Talented Filmmakers Announce Exciting, Comedic Short Film — “Film Geekz(s)”

A comedy about a once popular video store battling for survival in a streaming world

AUSTIN, Texas – August 5, 2015 – “Film Geekz(s)” is a new short film that was just announced by a group of talented filmmakers. It is a hilarious comedy about a once popular video store battling for survival in a streaming world. For anyone of a certain age, the nostalgic feeling of video stores is something real. “Film Geekz(s)” is a David and Goliath story about an unlikely, movie-obsessed, hero whose journey is set alongside a diverse and entertaining cast of characters. “Film Geekz(s)” explores movies, business, art, commerce, and the certainty of change in a fast paced world.

Owned and operated by the ever optimistic Luke Long, this once heralded bastion of film preservation and distribution is struggling. With his supportive crew and co-owner, Luke tries to rally the community together for a 10-year-anniversary bash while fighting off creditors and bankruptcy.  However, before this short film can be made, these filmmakers need help. That’s why they launched this Kickstarter campaign. The goal of this project is to raise $6,000 by September 2, 2015. The funds raised will go toward production costs.

To help bring this comedy to life, please visit the Kickstarter campaign or click here. Perks will be delivered between September 2015 and December 2016.

Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal, which means if the campaign does not reach the funding goal then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given can make a difference, and this is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a special campaign! Help “Film Geekz(s)” reach the goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this, the more support the campaign will receive.
