Celebrating 20 Years of Peaceful Divorce Service

Divorce With Dignity is celebrating 20 years of helping couples find amicable solutions for divorce.

Divorce With Dignity is happy to announce they are celebrating twenty years of business in the peaceful divorce industry. Established in 1996 in Alameda, California, the company has provided a safe place for thousands of individuals seeking an amicable divorce or separation.
Owner Cindy Elwell started providing amicable divorces—also known as uncontested divorce—as a registered and bonded legal document assistant in 1995. Elwell says of this time, “I originally started Divorce With Dignity in Alameda out of my home office, which I quickly outgrew. As I realized how valuable our services are in helping people get through this difficult process amicably, I decided to take the company nationally so that we could positively impact and help more people.” The national expansion started in the fall of 2008, and now has twelve locations in California and Florida.
Happy to celebrate two decades of helping people find alternative methods of separation, Divorce With Dignity does not take divorce lightly. “We do not wish to promote divorce,” says Elwell. “Traditional methods of litigating a divorce can destroy and divide families as well as deplete them of money and assets needed to move forward into their new lives.” Many of the Network’s Divorce Providers have personally experienced divorce and empathize with their clients’ needs.
The company’s website states, “We believe that affordable legal access is everyone’s right.” Their clientele includes a wide range of people in different situations. Some include couples who still loved each other but had very different views on money management. Other examples include couples who were growing apart or ran into too many complications trying to litigate in court. Elwell states, “I’ve helped [struggling couples] either stay together with various agreements and living trusts, or legally separate amicably.”
Owner, Cindy Elwell is active in her community and currently a member of the following organizations:  the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the Bay Area Consulting Network (BACN). She recently moved to Marin County to be closer to her grandchildren, and opened an office there. She continues to help couples achieve amicable divorce and is expanding the Network.
