CLEVELAND, Ohio – September 8, 2015 – Bernini in Ecstasy, LLC has announced a development workshop and staged reading of the exciting new play “Bernini in Ecstasy,” by Clay Ballard. Inspired by the biography Bernini: His Life and His Rome, by Franco Mormando, Ph.D., the play tells the story of famed Baroque artist, Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Found everywhere in Rome, Bernini is known for his many works, including the Fountain of the Four Rivers in the Piazza Navona, Apollo and Daphne and the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa. After living in Rome for four years, Philip Micali decided to bring Bernini’s story to the stage. He enlisted the talents of playwright Clay Ballard, who has created the world that Bernini lived in.
“Bernini in Ecstasy,” presents the mythic personalities inhabiting the exclusive realms of Baroque Rome. Completed in early 2015, the play continues its development in a series of staged readings resulting in a fully staged production. However, the production needs help before the play can get on its feet. That’s why they launched this Kickstarter campaign. The goal is to raise $5,000 by September 27, 2015. The funds raised will go towards the development workshop and staged readings, as well as to offset the cost of presenting “Bernini in Ecstasy” to potential backers for a full production.
To help bring this exciting production to life, please visit the Kickstarter campaign or click here. Perks will be delivered between October 2015 and November 2015.
This is an “all-or-nothing” proposal, which means if the campaign does not reach the funding goal, the project cannot move forward. Become part of this special campaign! Any amount given can make a difference.
Please help “Bernini in Ecstasy” reach its goal by sharing this release on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks. The more people know about “Bernini in Ecstasy,” the more support the campaign will receive.
