TERMOLI, Italy – September 23, 2015 – Marcello De Filippis recently announced a bio economy project, to plant Paulownia trees to improve the environment. The Paulownia is a tree with a very high growth factor that, if cultivated properly, can exceed a height of 20 meters in just three years. It can reach a diameter of 28 cm that is suitable for the direct production of wood for biomass. Many associations of worldwide now recognize the Paulownia best absorber of carbon dioxide plant and declared it for the future of humanity, thanks to its development and regeneration. Only one hectare of Paulownia, with 600 trees planted, can absorb up to 1,200 tons of CO2.
Also, this type of tree is great for stabilizing landslides. The Paulownia is in fact formed by two radical apparatuses. One surface and one tap root that reaches a maximum development of 10/12 meters deep, valid and then to stabilize in a natural and non-invasive soils subject to landslides. Marcello and his project want to repopulate abandoned areas of vegetation, as paulownia trees are easily adapted to arid and bare grounds. Through this project, they want to create also a quick and efficient solution for reducing CO2 emissions present in the atmosphere and also create an alternative way to generate clean energy. However, before this project can happen, Marcello needs help. That’s why he launched this Kickstarter campaign. The goal of this project is to raise €150,000 by November 7, 2015.
