CORONA, California – October 12, 2015 – The SOS app, an incredible, new application to protect students, teachers and staff in schools, was recently announced. Designed by Squad 51 Software, this innovative app is a better and inexpensive way to protect kids during an emergency. In the past ten days, four school shootings took place in the United States – Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, and Arizona. People feel like it won’t happen to them, but it is happening far too often. As a result, Squad 51 Software designed the SOS App to be a lower cost, easy and quick to deploy, simple to use solution. It solves multiple problems from school violence situations to common disasters such as fires, earthquakes, and tornadoes. The SOS app is designed for iOS and Android.
The SOS App allows schools, along with their teachers and staff, to use their own devices, keeping the cost down. By simply pushing a few buttons, teachers can tell the Principal, the District Superintendent, as well as the responding emergency services what is happening in their classroom. With this information, the school administration can understand, plan how to help the emergency services and manage the incident. They now know the status of everyone in their school. With this information, the fire department and EMS can decide if they need to augment their personnel by bringing in more ambulances or paramedics based on how many injuries are reported.
The police department and their SWAT team can decide if they want to use it for determining what building to evacuate or which building to aggressively enter based on information about the assailant. But that isn’t all, the SOS App also has a disaster reporting section, where users can report if there is a fire, earthquake, or tornado when it occurs. In similar fashion to the school lockdown, the teachers and staff can report on injuries or if the building has collapsed. However, before schools can start using The SOS app, Squad 51 Software needs help to finish the app. That’s why they launched this Kickstarter campaign. The goal of this project is to raise $17,500 by October 27, 2015. The funds raised will go towards completing the development of the application
To help bring this innovative app to market, please visit the Kickstarter campaign or click here. Perks will be delivered between November 2015 and April 2016.
Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal, which means if the campaign does not reach the funding goal then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given can make a difference, and this is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a special campaign! Help Squad 51 Software reach the goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this, the more support the campaign will receive.
