As the development of western China accelerates, Sichuan focuses on its six major pillar industries: electronics and IT, hydropower, mechanical metallurgy, pharmaceutical chemicals, food & beverage, and tourism. The province boasts favorable investment environment and growth potential. As of May 2013, more than 230 Fortune 500 corporations had started their global operations in Chengdu. In 2014, its GDP rose 12.6% YoY to 2,384.98 billion yuan, and Per capita GPD advanced 12.3% YoY to 29,579 yuan.

Sichuan Tourism Commodities 

On October 24, the 4th Beijing International Tourism Commodities Fair (2015) was held in China International Exhibition Center (Beijing). As an important part of the Fair, Sichuan Tourism Commodities Exhibition organized by Sichuan Tourism Association also appeared at the same time. It gained great success and recognition by China National Tourism Administration, and won the award of excellent organization. Panda series products in the Panda Life Hall and Beichuan Harmonious straw plaited products won the award of excellent tourism commodities.

This year, Sichuan Tourism Association has seriously implemented the spirit of the provincial tourism work picture-phone meeting, and focused on creativity, design, packaging and quality promotion of the commodities by cooperating with the universities and colleges and tourism commodity production enterprises. Commodity Branch of Sichuan Tourism Association has organized specialists to the tourism commodity production enterprises of various cities and autonomous prefectures for site guidance, and help to enhance the level of design and development, so as to make Sichuan tourism commodities with Sichuan characteristics.

The Tourism Commodities Fair has gathered over thousands of high quality enterprises from 16 provinces and cities and 14 counties of Beijing, and other 56 countries and regions in the world, such as the United States, South Korea, Japan, Germany, South Africa, Iran, Laos, Pakistan and Nepal.

Located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Sichuan, China’s fifth largest province, has an area of 485,000 square kilometers and a population of more than 87.5 million. The terrain and relief of the province descend from west to east, and are bowl-shaped. This contributes to a varied natural environment and unique landscapes and makes the province a highly popular travel destination.
