In a world dominated by younger generation of athletes, models, MMA fighters, Olympians and the Zuckerberg’s of the fortune 500 companies fitness model Rebecca Eger is out to prove age really is just a number.
“I am a 47 year old mother of 2 and I am a grandmother. Health and fitness has been a huge part of my life. I’ve worked in the beauty business as a Medical Aesthetician for the last 20 years. I began competing 10 years ago and became an IFBB Pro in 2013. To me that was a huge accomplishment.”
Right now this Pittsburgh native is competing in the finals of the 2015 Miss Jetset Magazine Cover Model contest. Jetset Magazine is the main affluent lifestyle print and online resource. Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Kathy Ireland and Melania Trump have graced the cover of Jetset Magazine in the past.
To make it this far in the annual international contest Rebecca first had to win the state of Pennsylvania. At least one hundred girls competed for the Pennsylvania crown. Now she is competing against every state and one international contestant. As of right now Rebecca is in 2nd place. The finals end December 10, 2015.
“Winning this contest would prove that age is just a number and you should never let anything hold you back. So please vote for me every day and help make this possible.” A vast majority of the other contestants in the final rounds are half Rebecca’s age down to 19 years old. Last Monday Rebecca was on the Bubba Show 100.7 STAR FM. She is to call in each Monday and update them on where she is in the standings.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is also rooting for Rebecca. If she wins the 2015 Miss Jetset Magazine Cover Model contest she is donating $10,000 to the charity. “The reason I chose this charity is because leukemia has made a big impact on my life in the last year with a few family members and close friends.” The charity is 100% behind her. Local Pittsburgh businesses such as Empire Investigations LLC and others have also pledged to match Rebecca’s donation in attempts to help raise awareness for the disease and support her inspirational story.
