RYE, N.Y. – November 16, 2015 Thermo-Seal Windows, Siding, and Roofing, an award-winning roofing and window replacement contractor in Westchester County, New Jersey and Connecticut, announced today that it has added a new “learning section” to its website, www.thermosealwindows.com. The learning section contains useful information for homeowners and commercial property owners regarding roof and window maintenance.  The company is offering these learning articles to help customers be informed about the potential costs of weather damage and how to avoid it, and so forth.

“We offer this learning section as a service to our client and anyone else who needs help figuring out how to make the most of their investment in their home,” said Aaron Rukin of Thermo-Seal.

An article on the subject of “ice dams” is an example the content in the learning section.  It warns that ice dams can cause serious, costly damage to a roof as well as to the structure of a home. The Thermo-Seal site notes that ice dams form at the lower roof edge from repeated thawing and re-freezing of melted snow on an overhang. Snow accumulates on the roof. Its weight and pressure of the snow pack compresses and can form a layer of ice on the roof deck.  Warm air in the attic heats up the roof deck and melts the bottom layer of snow or ice.  The melting ice water can get up inside the roof itself, flooding walls and warping the frame of a house, and more.

Thermo-Seal offers roofing, roof restoration, window installation and window replacement. They can do remodeling, installation and repair of decks and gutters. Thermo-Seal has received numerous industry accolades and certifications.  The company is a GAF Master Elite roofing company.  They are fully insured and licensed in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. Thermo-Seal is a Member of the Honorary Contractor Program.  Awards include Winner of the Builders Guild Award in 2007 and 2009, Builders Remodeler of the Year in 1991-2007 and again in 2009
