CHICAGO, IL – 12/11/2015 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — After Stanley Ratliff served nearly 3 years in prison and received clemency from the state of Illinois, Stanley and Antoinette became committed to supporting children and families of the incarcerated.
They are serving over 1000 children on December 19, 2015 at 10am and 12pm! Two services because of the number of children being served at Crown Academy Elementary School. The address is 2128 S. St . Louis Chicago Illinois 60623.
On June 20, 2006 , Stanley Ratliff was awarded the prestigious Jefferson Award for Public Service locally. He then went on to win the nation wide Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
The Ratliff’s started a prison ministry and has since opened up Celestial Ministries School of Fine Arts in the North Lawndale Community. They know first hand what a family goes through when a parent is incarcerated. Stanley and his family are volunteers of Prison Fellowship Angel Tree. This is a special time of the year where inmates fill out applications for their children to receive gifts on their behalf. Stanley had complete the same application when he was incarcerated.
Stanley and Antoinette have been volunteers with Prison Fellowship for over 18 years now. It has grown from where they started with helping 200 children to over 1000 + ! They say it’s a lot of work but, they have some awesome volunteers that has the same passion.
These children are from the North Lawndale and the surrounding communities. Stanley and Antoinette youngest son, Andrew is now in their drumline and theory classes! Some of the children in Celestial Ministries has a parent incarcerated or have lost their lives due to the violence in their community.
