GREENVILLE, South Carolina — December 15, 2015 — Pyramet, incredible, new scale models of the Great Pyramid of Khufu at Giza, were recently announced. The mystique of the Great Pyramid combined with the unique properties of Heavy Metal Tungsten Alloy come together in these models. The Pyramet models are made of a 95 percent tungsten (W) alloy that is compacted into shape with pressures up to a thousand tons and then sintered in closely controlled HIP furnaces up to 3000 degrees Fahrenheit. The resulting heavy metal tungsten alloy has a density higher than all but six elements. To enhance and enrich the surface, the Pyramet is diamond polished. Various coatings are applied through a highly technical Vapor Deposition process. Pryamet is offered in four finishes including gold, midnight, natural, and rose.
There are two different Pyramet models, the first or Pyramet I measures 1.67” x 1.67” square x 1.06” high and is one cubic inch in volume. Pyramet II measures 2.12” x 2.12” square x 1.33” high and is two cubic inches in volume and weighs one pound six ounces. However, before everyone can enjoy these Heavy-Metal Tungsten Alloy pyramids, Pyramet needs help. That’s why they launched this Kickstarter campaign. The goal of this project is to raise $50,000 by January 13, 2016. The funds raised will go towards the production and manufacturing of these wonderful scale models.
