LOS ANGELES, CA – 12/18/2015 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — PELV-ICE™, a new medical device company revolutionizing the standard of care for pelvic soft tissue trauma, announces the launch of its second product: the Maternity Mama Strut™, an adjustable soft brace created exclusively to help a pregnant woman support her entire pelvis and use therapeutic ice and heat just where she needs it.

“The During Pregnancy Mama Strut fills a void in maternity lifestyle and the medical community for a solution that addresses the aches, pains, and concerns of a pregnant mama – comfortably, conveniently, and naturally, “ says Bigelow, mama of 3 and creator of the Mama Strut.

PELV-ICE’s debut product, The Mama Strut Postpartum Care System has been uniquely designed to soothe the pelvic area and support the body’s healing process with a dynamic combination of heat/ice pack therapy and adjustable support. Its abdominal binder provides lower back and abdominal support, while the ice and heat packs attach with a removable strap cushion to help reduce pain and swelling from soft tissue injury and vaginal prolapse. Made from quick-dry and antibacterial bamboo, nylon and spandex, it fits discreetly and comfortably under clothing.

“During pregnancy, a mama can be feeling less than her best and the under belly, vulvar and lower back support in combination with the removable ice and heat packs can help a mama to be both physically and emotionally,” says Bigelow. “The Mama Strut During Pregnancy has been worn by Olympic athletes, and fitness enthusiast mamas while training and every day mamas that are suffering from conditions like vulvar veins and pubic symphysis disorder.”

The visionary behind the Mama Strut is Jill Bigelow, a finance professional, USC MBA (2007), and mom of three. After giving birth to her second child, she was frustrated that her hospital’s solution for her pelvic discomfort was ice in a rubber glove and pain medication. After scouring both the medical and maternity markets, she was surprised to discover there was no singular product that addressed all of her needs as a new mom. Inspired by the braces she wore after sports injuries on other parts of the body, the idea for the Mama Strut was born.

The Mama Strut is patent-pending, has been road-tested by thousands of mamas, endorsed by OB/gyns, midwives, doulas and lactation professionals. It was classified by the FDA in 2013 as a Class I device and is covered by most insurance. Bigelow is also developing additional PELV-ICE products in modified versions to support patients with other pelvic surgeries, conditions, and injuries for women and men.

The Mama Strut will is available for purchase on www.mamastrut.com for a retail price of $129 and also on www.amazon.com and at select retail: specialty maternity boutiques, medical offices, and pharmacies.
