The 5k race for charity, Race for the Halo, invites everyone for this year’s event as a way of helping those who are in need.

It’s that time of the year again when people get the chance to stay fit and healthy while helping others who are in need. The Houston 5k Race for the Halo will be held on the 13th of January 2016 at the Alexander Deussen Park in Houston, Texas. For the third time, this year’s race is once again intended to give financial assistance and scholarships to different charities such as Real Life Angels, Snowdrop Foundation and Competing for Hope.

The Houston 5k 2016 is already on its third year and the organizers of the event are expecting that this too will be as successful as the first two years. Last 2015, the event was able to raise more than $26,000 and with this amount, they were able to give 20 scholarships.

There are many reasons why everyone should join this event. For starters, it is a timed 10k or 5k run. But Aside from adults, this race is also open for kids as there is a 1k run available. What is even more interesting is that there is also a virtual race. In fact, the previous year, there were 25 states and three countries that were involved.

The finishers of the Race for the Halo will also get to receive custom medals. Together with the registration, there will also be a technical shirt and awards will be given to every age group. More than the fact that you can get to help others, this run will also take you through a beautiful and stunning course along the road, trails and road. Massages, food and drinks will also be offered after the race to give the participants some time to relax. There will also be an allotted kid zone as well as some exciting sponsor giveaways. A big raffle also awaits those who will participate and one of the prizes include the foot signed by JJ Watt himself. Kevin Kline from 93Q Morning Show will be the guest race.

100% of the proceeds will go to their spotlight charity, the Real Life Angels. There will also be 5% of the proceeds that will go to the Snowdrop Foundation that will help in fighting against cases of childhood cancer. Another 5% will go to the Competing For Hope that helps those families that have a child suffering from pediatric cancer.

Those who are interested to join the Race for the Halo are invited to sign up at their official website. If you want to make a difference today, you can also send an email for sponsorship duties and raffle donations, with the sponsorships also allowed to be submitted online at the official website. Those who can’t attend can also try the virtual race option.
