MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Jan 20, 2016 – The team at Fantasia Tile & Stone is happy to announce they just successfully spent their 35th year working with homeowners and design professionals in Minneapolis, MN. Fantasia is a family-owned, woman-owned, third generation design showroom in IMS Design Center (Glenwood Ave & Lyndale Ave. on the West edge of downtown). 

The History

Fantasia opened its doors in 1980 as the first showroom in Minnesota to offer European plumbing fixtures and tile. For the past thirty years they have been in IMS Design Center as an anchor tenant, offering a wide array of tile and faucetry options to design professionals and homeowners.

In 2000 they opened a 2nd location in downtown Bozeman, Montana. The staff there, off Main Street in Downtown Bozeman, works with architects and homeowners all over Montana and Big Sky. Between them, the teams in Minneapolis and Montana have worked on projects local and worldwide, from lodges at Yellowstone National Park, to restaurants in Minneapolis and private residences all over the North America.

The Longevity

Fantasia Tile & Stone also has a unique structure for a tile showroom, one that differs from others in the Minneapolis area. The structure and customer service orientation that results has been a large factor in their 35 years of successful business in the Twin Cities. 

Fantasia’s Unique Structure 

Most tile and plumbing showrooms have a sales floor, where the sales people work with customers and help them choose products.

• Then, once the product is sold, the order entry department enters the order.
• Then the shipping people make sure the product gets to the customer.

“Different departments for different functions works smoothly when it works well for the customer,” says Andrea. “If there is a problem with the order’s shipping, or the tile manufacturer is delayed for instance, it can cause problems.”

In the above instance, the sales person who sold the tile has no information on a delay, since that would be more of a shipping issue. So the customer doesn’t know who to call.

At Fantasia Tile & Stone, the sales people are the order entry department. The sales people are also the shipping department and the customer service department.

• The design sales consultant who sells a client tile for a project is the same person who makes sure the order was entered correctly.
• It is the same person who handles the shipping, and the person who keeps track of the entire order from the consultation, to the sale, to the delivery.
• If there is ever an issue the client knows exactly who to talk to.
