Dedicated Computing panel discussion at MDM West will examine key practices to mitigate malicious activity and ensure patient safety and data security.

Waukesha, WI / Anaheim, CA – January 21, 2016 – Dedicated Computing’s Director of Engineering – Internet of Things (IoT) Andrew Herger has been selected to moderate a panel discussion at the Medical Design & Manufacturing West (MD&M West) conference being held February 9 – 11 in Anaheim. Addressing the panel topic, “Managing Risk to Keep Data Secure and Patients Safe,” Herger and other prominent thought leaders in various roles will identify key practices that help medical device industry professionals overcome risk areas, discuss product design considerations with an eye toward cyber security and cultural challenges such as availability versus confidentiality of data within an organization.

An engineer, consultant, project management and product development strategy leader, Herger is a driver and supporter of Industrial Internet of Things strategies for Dedicated Computing, where he manages a team of network, systems, and software engineers. Together they focus on hardening the security of intelligent edge node devices, security and risk assessments, network infrastructures, and cloud applications for key markets such as medical device manufacturing and genome sequencing.

Herger will lead an esteemed panel of experts into a larger discussion about healthcare data security, that includes:
