January 28, 2016, San Diego – The Brownstone Law Group, the renowned California law firm with decades of experience, has announced the availability of their debt analysis to residents and clients living in San Diego. According to the law firm, this initial consultation service will be provided for free.

“We are aware that many people in the San Diego area have accumulated large debts, especially with this recent holiday season. There are approximately 74,700 adults in San Diego out of work,” says Thomas A. Moore, whose 23 years of legal experience led to the founding the law firm in 2010. “With our free debt analysis, we can accurately gauge the debt situation and see if solutions outside of debt consolidation are available.”

The Brownstone Law Group can offer free consultation for people considering credit card consolidation, which involves securing a single debt consolidation loan to cover all outstanding debts from various credit card companies. “This option used to be readily available, but with tightened credit and challenged debt-to-income ratios, most people won’t find consumer loans as a viable option in today. This can lead to title loans and other desperate measures that put people in a very difficult situation. We can instead help them understand alternative debt relief options. A lot of confusion exists among consumers today, so we try to simplify things.”

Why do people seek debt consolidation loans? “Having many different lenders will mean different lending rates, which can often entail higher costs and result in greater interest costs over the duration of repayment. Debt consolidation used to be a chief remedy, as a single interest rate and payment would replace the others.” Moore points out. “However, it’s tough to find a bank that will extend a personal loan without collateral, so we seek to inform consumers on other plans they may wish to look at. One of these is debt negotiation.”

The Brownstone Law Group offers debt negotiation services for some cases, during which they may be able to negotiate with the creditors to accept less than what the consumer originally owed to settle the debt. This can also help relieve the monthly burden for the consumer. It’s important to note that debt negotiation is not a fit for every consumer, and there are things to consider such as budget, credit rating, etc.

“With the free debt analysis service we offer, we can make sure that consumers learn about the different debt relief solutions in San Diego available for their situation,” says Moore. “Filing for bankruptcy or defaulting on a loan may is not their only option.”
