At Elite Rehab Placement we pride ourselves on taking as much stress as possible out of the rehab process. It’s hard work to call several different rehab centers and listen to their sales team tell you why they are the best possible option for you. We’ve already done all of the research and work with several high quality centers, all over the nation, that we are intimately familiar with.
In 2008, there were only 357 heroin overdose related emergency room visits in Maryland.

That number jumped to 1,200 in 2013, and 1,564 cases in 2014. Emergency room visits due to prescription narcotic analgesic overdose was posted at 1,101 in 2014, more than double the state’s figures in 2008. From January to June of 2013, there were a total of 15 heroin-laced fentanyl overdose related deaths. However, for the same period in 2014 (January to June), the number of heroin-laced fentanyl overdose related deaths rose to 101. In 2014, 887 deaths were attributed to drug overdose that involved heroin, prescription narcotic analgesics, and fentanyl. The number of persons who died because of heroin overdose increased by 25 percent from 464 in 2013 to 578 in 2014. Additionally, fentanyl related drug overdose deaths jumped to 185 in 2014 from 58 the year prior for a three-fold increase. The total number of drug overdose deaths, including heroin, prescription opiates, and fentanyl grew from to 892 in 2013 to 1,070 in 2014.

With such bleak numbers, many are questioning whether Maryland’s addiction treatment protocols are working or not. However, the state’s substance drug rehabilitation practitioners are working together with other state services to devise a more effective, more responsive, and more reliable therapeutic program for the state’s substance abusers.

While Maryland is clearly struggling in the fight against drugs, like other US states, many do praise the gallant efforts of drug treatment centers improving their treatment and rehabilitation services. Additionally, Maryland communities are doubling their contribution in the successful reintegration of drug rehabilitees. Making sure that these individuals will be able return to their neighborhoods without fear of prejudice is something that Maryland communities are striving to achieve. This is deemed necessary so that drug rehabilitees will the warmth and appreciation of society for the former’s effort to seek treatment and rehabilitation. A socially responsive community is what many drug rehab and addiction center establishments in Maryland now desperately need. The renewed support of the state’s local government executives, in cooperation and collaboration with federal offices, are also providing drug rehabilitation centers in Maryland the optimism they require.

Drug rehab and treatment services are not like health promotion or disease prevention programs. Maryland’s approach to drug rehabilitation is also unlike the medical treatment-focused health services provided in other types of health conditions. Drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation require a well-rounded appreciation and understanding of the person’s drug and drug-related issues. Addiction treatment requires the thorough, meticulous, and objective evaluation of the person. This is where most of the challenge lies. Drug addiction has been regarded as a very subjective experience albeit with distinct physical complaints which can be assessed objectively. It is the person’s subjective experiences that proves trickier to establish with absolute certainty.

Despite the dismal drug addiction and drug overdose related deaths, many of Maryland’s addiction treatment and rehabilitation centers are optimistic about the chances of turning everything around. Staffed with professionals who are well-trained to manage drug issues in a non-subjective, very systematic, and non-judgmental manner, these drug addiction center establishments are optimistic about turning Maryland’s drug picture around.
