MEMPHIS, TN – 10 Feb, 2016 – Fitness matters at every stage of life. Studies show that baby boomers who maintain an active lifestyle live longer and happier lives. However, modern gyms can be intimidating and inaccessible to older adults. We all know that every New Year begins with people making resolutions about heading to the gym, but this year, one man is starting a gym revolution.
Based on a lifetime of personal fitness training expertise, Bob Gragg is opening up Memphis’ first fitness center that specializes in helping adults aged 40 and up meet their training or recovery goals. The Recovery Training gym and studio facility is located in Cordova and is set to open its doors at the end of February.
The Recovery Training gym features state of the art training equipment as well as a discrete assessment facility. In an inclusive and accessible environment, clients are able to build better bodies and lives with guidance from a certified training professional. The training programs include everything from senior strength and cardiovascular training, to post-surgical recovery. All programs are tailored to suit each client’s body, abilities and goals.
“ Here at Recovery Training of Memphis, we train bodies not egos. We offer customized personal training designed for people with challenges that may limit their ability to train and/or impact their daily lives. Our dynamic, integrated approach ensures our clients get the results they want with the bodies they have- with compassion, commitment and integrity. “
Bob Gragg is the driving force behind Memphis’ senior fitness evolution. An ex pro tennis trainer, Bob has been a fitness industry professional for the last 30 years. In addition to being a qualified senior fitness and women’s fitness specialist, he’s also fully certified in fitness nutrition, personal training, and corrective exercise programs. His decision to open the Recovery Training facility was motivated by his own health journey with a knee injury and as well as three decades of experience training a variety of clients in big box gyms and private studios. Bob is excited to be bringing his wealth of expertise to his own studio and looks forward to helping new and existing clients meet their fitness goals through his personalized training program.
“As I began my career as a certified personal trainer, I noticed that there was a big gap between rehab and recovery. I also noticed that many performance enhancement techniques I used on athletes and myself could be modified to accelerate recovery. Because there were not many local trainers focusing on this, I decided to form Recovery Training to serve the senior community of Memphis. I have found it to be both very challenging and highly rewarding. I look forward to working with those who want to overcome their challenges in the future.”
The Recovery Training gym is due to open at the end of February. Visit the Recovery Training website for opening updates and to view a full list of their programs.
