The owner of Decision Point Security and founder of HU1 Opsec, John ‘Lex’ Robinson, will be speaking in the 2016 Central Ohio Infosec Summit on March 30th. Robinson, a military veteran, will highlight some of the hidden aspects of Information security and also speak on his already popular topic ‘The CONfidence of things’.
The motive is to make people aware of the importance of information security and how it can be achieved while also shifting the conversation from technology solutions back to people oriented solutions and behavioral change.
Through the topic ‘The CONfidence of Things’, Robinson will shed some light on the nuances of the ‘Internet of things’ which will include topics such as cloud computing and everyday technology that affects the lives of millions of people. He will share his thought provoking ideas about how humans can use technology as a tool of empowerment without getting enslaved by it.
While technology is sneaking further into the lives of many and sharing personal information over the internet is now common, only some understand where their information is going, who’s using it and who owns it.
In his presentation, he explains the various aspects of information security which will not only be of concern to the technology enthusiast but anyone who is connected to the internet.
At the summit, he’ll talk further about the significance of information security and its relationship to personal responsibility and ethics. This is the second time that Robinsonwill be speaking on the topic and he will soon release ‘Get Secure or Get Hacked’, a 60 day action guide to mitigate security issues, for the general public.
