BROOKLYN, New York – February 22, 2016 – Great songwriting training is tough to access. It’s limited to a few major cities around the world and a handful of expensive college programs. The Song Foundry, founded by Ed Bell in 2015, aims to change the face of songwriting education and make this knowledge available to anyone who wants it. The company launched a Kickstarter campaign to help Bell and an experienced team of five composers, videographers, animators, and writers create a unique online songwriting education series.
The fifteen episodes will be available worldwide on YouTube. Each video is focused on one fundamental principle of songwriting. Bell has written a self-guided, comprehensive series where anyone can learn songwriting in their own homes and at their own pace. The videos will be entertaining as well as educational, and take a philosophy of ‘tools not rules’. Bell is also working on an eBook, which will complement the series and go into much more detail.
“I’ve been so lucky with my training as a musician and writer. It’s taken me via Cambridge University, London and then, since 2013, New York City. I think great education – and especially arts education – is one of the most valuable things we have. I created The Song Foundry because I want everyone to have access to this kind of training. Wherever they are and whatever their background.”~ Ed Bell, Founder of The Song Foundry.

The Song Foundry are offering all their backers advance access to the series, plus a choice of other perks including exclusive electronic and hardback editions of the eBook, exclusive Song Foundry merchandise, cameos in the videos and much more.
Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing model, which means that the project can only move forward if it reaches its funding goal. So any contribution to the campaign makes all the difference.
