Suzanne Charlebois is the author of The Very Sleepy Mouse, a children’s story about a mouse who was having trouble falling asleep. It is designed to help children who are having trouble sleeping relax through the power of meditation and can ultimately become a powerful bedtime tool to help children fall asleep easily. Now, the author has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund production and publication of the book.
According to the author, “My son was having a hard time falling asleep and I was at my wits’ end. After months of trying every trick I could think of I had a thought: meditation! Drawing on my own personal experience with meditation and self-hypnosis, I made up a story to help my son unwind quickly. After just a few times of telling him the story he started to fall asleep at almost the exact same spot in the story every night.”
The Sleepy Mouse uses suggestive and predictable wording, along with soft imagery, to lead a child to relax and begin dreaming. The book comes with a storytelling guide for parents that helps them build the skills of using empathy, tone and tempo as well as anchoring and grounding to deliver the story for maximum results.
As seen at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/181106483/the-sleepy-mouse, the pledge levels for the Kickstarter campaign range from $5 to $16, with rewards ranging from a printable color picture of The Very Sleepy Mouse to signed copies of the book.
