TORONTO, Canada – March 14, 2016 – Canadian film students – Luke Villemaire, Maddy Pilon, Adam Madrzyk, and Selina Da Silva – are excited to launch an IndieGoGo campaign to fund their feature film project, GOLIATH. The goal is to raise $50,000 CAD to cover production costs. Within 2-days, the campaign received tremendous support from the community and raised more than $10,000.
The movie GOLIATH follows Robin Walker as she returns home for her father’s funeral. Walker is forced to face the town she ran away from years ago and the damaged family she left behind. Tensions run high when estranged relatives turn up, and old family secretssurface.
With the guidance of experienced veterans in the industry, the team of young and talented Canadian film students has worked tirelessly on the movie for over a year. GOLIATH is about family, and the struggles people face to build and maintain a strong connection with loved ones. The movie will be submitted to various film festivals across North America, which they hope to have a limited theatrical release in 2017.
The team has secured $40,000 by generous sponsors: Ryerson Communication & Design Society (RCDS), Ryerson University, Student Initiatives Fund (SIF), Ryerson Student’s Union (RSU). Now, they need a bit more to bring this project to life.
