NFL player and Sacramento native, Marlon Moore, will host and play in a basketball game on April 16 with other NFL players to raise funds for the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento. The Marlon Moore Celebrity Classic hopes to raise proceeds for the Children’s Receiving Home, which provides emergency shelter and mentoring programs for abused and neglected Sacramento-area children.
Moore, a wide receiver in the NFL for over 5 years, including 2 years with the Cleveland Browns, grew up in Sacramento and attended Natomas High School. He has a long history of giving back to the communities in which he lives; in 2016, he founded the Ernest Leon Moore Foundation, an organization that gives back to the Sacramento community.
Other NFL players participating in the event include professional NFL players Asa Jackson, Dwayne Bowe, and Rashad Jones.
The event will take place on April 16, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Capital Christian Center, 9470 Micron Ave., Sacramento. Doors will open at 10 a.m., but the basketball game will start at 11 a.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. For more information, please visit www.emmfl.org or call (916) 916.435-6222.
