COPENHAGEN, Denmark – March 21, 2016 – “Finding the Time” is an interactive fiction game to teach people how to balance their love lives and careers. In a busy world, finding time for both can be difficult. When someone is focusing on their career, they are most likely neglecting their love life and vice versa. It’s a double-edged sword, and most people think there’s no solution. However, “Finding the Time” challenges the player to achieve this balance. A demo of the game is available by clicking here.
To complete the game and release it on PC, Android, and iOS, the creator launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise kr60,000 DKK by April 3, 2016. It will take approximately four months to develop.
The game revolves around one couple who has been dating for four years. They’re about to celebrate their anniversary, but things keep getting in the way. This lack of balance has put a strain on the relationship. As they try to make amends, harsh realities soon set in. Their careers, social lives, personal problems and even ordinary chores demand time and attention. Will they be able to rekindle the flame without giving up on their hopes and dreams? This is a situation everyone is all too familiar with.
“Finding the Time” incorporates dialogue with images and music to immerse the user in the story. As the player continues, they’re forced to answer challenging and realistic life questions. There are themes of love and sexuality that’s portrayed in a way that is neither vulgar or comical, but invites people to reflect on the meaning of beauty and intimacy in their own lives. The creators also hope users will develop better decision-making skills to enhance their quality of life.
