Christian Ministry Launches New Radio Program for Domestic and Sexual Abuse Victims

It is estimated that one in four women will be the victim of domestic violence, and almost 500 women a day are sexually assaulted. One of the hotspots for domestic and sexual violence is the New York City and New Jersey metropolitan areas, which is why the Healing Heart Ministry will soon be launching a one hour Christian radio program on New York’s WMCA 570 that will provide advice and resources for victimized women. Headed by Pastor Liz Pla, the Healing Heart Ministry is a Christian organization that helps victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Pastor Liz began Healing Heart Ministry after her own experiences as a target of sexual assault and domestic abuse. In the years since its creation, Healing Heart Ministry has helped church leaders facilitate dialogue with and among victims, as well as providing life-saving resources to abuse victims. Healing Heart Ministry recognizes that there is an epidemic of domestic abuse, even within the Christian community, and is committed to raising awareness, providing counsel, and making available legal or social assistance.

This new radio program will build on the ministry’s accomplishments, but it needs your support. Pastor Liz has sponsored a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo to raise the $75,000 needed to lease office space and obtain equipment for the weekly radio broadcast. In addition to the satisfaction of knowing that you have improved the lives of suffering women and children, you can also get perks for contributing to this campaign including a handwritten thank you note from Pastor Liz Pla, a Healing Heart Ministry mug, pen, shirt, on-air recognition, or opportunity to co-host the radio show. If you cannot financially support this worthy project, please consider sharing this campaign with others on Facebook or Twitter.
