Engineered for transport of food, packaging, and pharmaceuticals, the Connex plastic conveyor chain was featured in a presentation on Tuesday by Bruce Gray, product manager, at Hytrol during MODEX 2016. The new Connex conveying solution was profiled in Modern Materials Handling magazine. The plastic chain will be offered on Hytrol’s aluminum, stainless steel, and powder-coated steel conveyor products in a variety of configurations and with multiple accessories.
Gray said, “All components are lightweight and modular for easy installation with no welding required in the field. Already available, the aluminum version uses a positive drive, and is anodized to ensure corrosion resistance. The stainless steel version, available soon, will have an all-stainless steel frame for easy cleaning and construction from FDA-approved materials. The powder-coated steel version will be available in all standard Hytrol colors.”
A variety of custom configurations and options for horizontal curves and diverts at any angle may be specified, Gray said, noting specifically a slave-driven turntable and guiderails. To prevent cross contamination, the conveyors are all built in a separate facility at Hytrol’s Jonesboro, Arkansas plant.
