COLUMBUS, OH – 15 Apr, 2016 – Debbie and Mike Gardner of Survive Institute will present their revolutionary and informative self-defense program at this year’s ASIS Columbus Annual Seminar in Columbus on May 12, 2016. Titled “You’re not Nuts! This is a Frightening Time to be a Security Professional”, the Gardners will share their expertise with security, human resources and IT professionals that are looking for calm, concise and explicit self-defense techniques that work within their companies.

The ASIS Columbus Annual Seminar is Columbus’s largest event dedicated to quality safety education and exhibits. In a recent edition of Meeting Professionals International’s quarterly, respondents reported “worries about safety and security in relation to global terrorism threats”.

“It’s such an honor to a part of this event,” said Debbie Gardner. “The men and women in security and human resources are facing new safety challenges everyday. They are heroes who help prevent and manage crises on a daily basis. We look forward to cutting through boring, outdated rhetoric … and instead teach courageous, realistic and exciting techniques that work.”

Debbie produced a video invite for attendees on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASZiDobEvkQ

About Survive Institute:

Debbie and Mike Gardner met in the Cincinnati Police Academy over 30 years ago. During their distinguished law enforcement careers, their training was extensive. Due to life-threatening personal challenges, they were forced to respectfully question traditional survival/personal safety concepts, which emphasized complication instead of focused simplicity. In a crisis, the Gardner’s learned that “less is more … but LESS must be RIGHT.” Since going “public” with their discoveries in 1982, their candid, straight forward yet healing information has empowered and inspired civilian and law enforcement audiences world-wide.

About the Center for Aggression Management:

The Center for Aggression Management was established in 1993 in response to a request from law enforcement leaders for more effective, lower impact methods for confronting aggressors and de-escalating aggression. Research and training in those areas brought our founder, John D. Byrnes, to the realization that workplace, campus and school violence could be prevented by applying methods developed by the Center for recognizing and managing aggression.
