For most professionals who work at a desk, some of the most common complaints are headaches, neck aches, poor posture and diminished energy. Studies have shown that long periods of sitting may be more detrimental to our health than smoking; in fact, the World Health Organization has targeted physical inactivity—e.g. sitting at a desk, watching TV, or driving—is the fourth leading risk factor for early death.
Luckily, there is the Spinal Flex Robot, a new product from fitness and health guru Kerry Morgan. After years of working with professionals who complained about health issues related to sitting, Kerry developed the Spinal Flex Robot. This Bluetooth enabled device attaches to any chair quickly and easily. It produces an optimal posture position for the user by ensuring the lower back is correctly curved. It also uses vibrations in the soft, cushioned arms to help maintain posture as well as alert the user to stand up, stretch and move around. The foam balls at the ends of the four arms and center are adjustable to fit any physical size. A smaller version is also used on the headrest to maintain optimal neck positioning.
The Spinal Flex Robot will help alleviate undue stress and pressure on back, neck and shoulder muscles, as well as the spine. Regular use will not only strengthen key posture musculature, but will also improve overall health by enhancing nerve responses, raising energy levels and eliminating stiffness. An app will also be provided to monitor user health.
The Spinal Flex Robot is currently in development but should soon be available to the public. The design team is asking the public to help accelerate the production process by contributing to their Indiegogo campaign. In return for your generous support, you can get valuable perks like an online yoga session, a Spinal Flex Robot, carrying case or a private corporate seminar.
