MILWAUKEE, WI – 12 May, 2016 – Hello, to all my Brothers and Sisters in Christ and Fellow Co-laborers of the Gospel, I bring you greetings from Faith Harvest Outreach.
As I look around our city, it is plagued by various crimes; prostitution, drug and alcohol addictions, robbery, rape, murder, suicide and hopelessness. We, as the Faith community, know the root cause of all these unlawful acts is “sin”.
As we watch our elected officials and law enforcement fuss and point the finger at one another,
trying to scramble to come up with the answers to slow down or even stop some of these problems; they do not have the answer, but we do. It’s time for the Faith community to galvanize around a common goal and that is to take the good news to a dying world.
Paul said in Galatians 3:8, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” What Paul was declaring is this, there is neither black nor white nor Hispanic, there is neither rich nor poor, there is neither Baptist nor Pentecostal nor Presbyterian.
It’s time for us, as the Faith community, to tear down these man made barriers and stop looking at what makes us different and start looking at what we all have in common, and that is we are all one in Christ Jesus. Now that is Good News saints. Jesus Christ is the common denominator. That is what we all have in common, Jesus.
I remember when I was a teenager sitting and watching the evening news with my father on June 12, 1987, and President Ronald Reagan delivered a challenge to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, and Iquote “General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization, come here to this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” One of satan’s biggest and most effective weapons is division.
I know and understand that there are a lot of churches on the front lines doing great things in ministry and I commend you for that, but alone we are just throwing a pebble into the ocean. Together, we can throw a huge ship sinking bolder into the ocean that will make a large impact in this city. There’s an old saying that “many hands make light work”. So I ask you dear friend, in the words of President Regan, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for our city and the kingdom of God, if you seek to set the oppressed free, tear down this wall and let’s work together in a non-partisan way.
We have read about history, we have heard about history, but now its time to come together and make history.
