Wall Township, New Jersey (getnews) May 27, 2016 – Monmouth Executive Airport announced earlier this month that the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) AirPower History tour is visiting the jetport from May 25 to May 29. Visitors will experience the sights, sounds and smells of World War II aviation history-complete with the opportunity to view the airplanes and purchase rides in attending aircraft.
Spread out over 850 acres, Monmouth Executive Airport is located in Wall Township at New Jersey. The airport is a full-service aviation hub that provides flying lessons, around-the-clock FBO services, jet hanger and office space rentals, and more.
The CAF tour brings an unprecedented collection of World War II aircrafts such as FIFI, and the world’s only flying B-29 Superfortress that’ll be accompanied by a C-45 Expeditor.
The Boeing B-29 Superfortress which was first flown in 1942 began its service in the year 1944 and is best known for bringing an end to World War II. It was designed as a replacement for the older B-17s and B-24s. With longer range and greater bomb loads, the B-29 was used in the Korean War in the early 1950s and was a staple of the U.S. Air Force until the late 1950s.
Tickets for the tour, which can be purchased online, are $10 for adults and $5 for children, ages 10 to 17. Children under 10 can attend the event for free. Price of admission includes a free B-29 cockpit tour when the aircraft is available.
